Bus Ride Sights: The MCE

We were going to Resorts World Sentosa.

And because we're the kind who don't necessarily Grab unless we have to, we took a bus there.

Bus 30 begins from Bedok Bus Interchange.

How the route goes I don't know, but it trundles down past the Haig Road Market and Food Center, turns into Tanjong Katong Road, then turns right into Old Airport Road.

We tend to take the bus from the bus stop outside the Dakota MRT Station.

From here the bus goes down towards Mountbatten Road, continues onto Fort Road then into the MCE.

The MCE is generally a (visually) (uninteresting) route- it's an underground tunnel- but you get rewarded with a view like this once you exit.

i  find it fascinating how the MCE circles from somewhere at the edge of East Coast Park, goes under the entire Marina Barrage, Gardens By The Bay, and MBS before leading you back out on land somewhere close to the MBFC side.

I didn't get to take pictures of the skyscrapers.

But I got pictures of  the waters that are (literally) at the edge of the expressway.

The seas don't always look as blue as they did this particular day.

So these colors are rare.

It's surprisingly calming, I tell you, this million dollar view.

Not just that, from time to time, you get  to see ships anchored at the dock too.

Today there wasn't any ship at anchor (i think so) but there were rows of cars parked neatly on the concrete and further on there were containers stacked one upon the other with the name of the shipping company painted on the side.

It is on this route that you get to glimpse the 'giraffes' of the port.

It is also on this route that you get a crash course on the names of shipping companies whose cargo pass through Singapore.

I was especially delighted to see the names of Evergreen, Hapag-Lloyd and Hyundai out on there.

It's been some time.

The bus trundles down the Keppel viaduct, from this section of (open-air MCE, turns down into Keppel Road,, then finally onto the West Coast Highway that goes past Vivocity and towards Pasir Panjang and Jurong.

I however didn't get to take many pictures after the bus exited the MCE  however.

Except for this.

It's just three (quiet) stops to Vivocity, and I was preparing to get down.
