I have hardly any pictures of today.
Don't ask me why.
It was one of those days where I did bring the camera out but for some reason wasn't very much in the mood or maybe didn't think I'd want to document them months after.
Silly of me, I know.
This morning we headed out to Ploenchit near Siam Pharmacy, and whilst my friend had an appointment, I headed to the mall nearby where I waited at Dean & Deluca.
Dean & Deluca seems to be a very expatriate type of place this side of Bangkok.
I don't know if it is the same elsewhere or if it's just how it is here but this place in Park Ventures Building seemed to have more spaces for coffee and chats and business meetings than they had for their signature groceries.
I didn't get to have a coffee.
But they didn't have me to go off either.
So I'm glad.
It was a while before I left and headed back to the area where my friend was waiting, and here we had lunch before going off to Siam Square.
This afternoon we decided to have our meal back at Ploenchit Boat Noodles- the place that has (permanently) changed how I perceive the dish of boat noodles, and her soup.
My friend had a basil beef rice and we shared a shrimp omelet.
I didn't take a picture of the basil beef rice, but here's the omelet.
I'm not kidding when I say that Ploenchit Boat Noodles has changed my perspective of this dish entirely.
There was a time when I was comfortable with just any type of soup, any type of boat noodle.
Then I ate here, fell in love with the broth, and never looked back.
Lunch over we headed to Siam Square where we settled down at Eggdrop and got some work done, during which- I don't know if this were lunch or dinner- but we got a ham and egg sandwich, as well as a bacon and egg.
Don't ask me why there're no pictures.
I probably was a bit too occupied (in the brain) to take out Chonkycam.
And I regret it.
Same way too I regret not taking pictures of the latte and the matcha latte which we'd came together with the meal.
Next time I'll take pictures of every meal.
That way I can look back at it months later and remember (and smile).
We headed off to a place close by for a Thai massage afterwards.
I wish I could remember just where it was I went, or what the name of the place was, even, but I can't.
Chances are it were either Moon Massage or Thai Thai Massage which are the two places in the Siam Square area that I had begun to frequent.
What I do remember is that it was a balm type of massage which helped to kick out much of the wind stuck (awkwardly) here and there.
We did for what was probably a 90 minute massage- that's the length of time we often do in the afternoons- and then when it finished, we headed off to Siam Paragon to get BOOST smoothies= gorgeous prices and so I could get a Cookies & Cream- before crossing the road to Big C Ratchadamri where we got basil paste, more bags of tea, and, if I'm not wrong, body lotion.
