Steppy The Tater Tot

I haven't been taking many pictures of this fella in recent months.

A pity, I really should take more.

This is, after all, one of my favorite toys around the house, and who has, like Buckley, the privilege of sitting on my bed next to my pillows.

That doesn't mean I don't love my other toys or the toys that I've collected over the years.

It just means that every toy has a place, and whilst some toys are meant to be placed by the work desk- like Cable (who doesn't have a picture), Miko, Langsuan and The Moose- others position themselves at the staircase landing, and still others stay on your bed where every night you perch them such that they are looking at you paws out like dogs would.

Steppy's a cute one.

Doesn't matter which angle you take picture of him.

He's cute all the same.

There be times when he's looking at the camera.

There be times when he's looking away from the camera.

Even if he be back turned to the camera, no difference, he's adorable.

What's funny is that I've not managed to figure out just what it is that gives him this cutesy cutesy look.

Maybe it's in his eyes- the way he looks out and about.

Maybe it's also in his super round squishy head, his super round squishy torso, his flat little tail, and his paws that somehow remind me of Doraemon.

IF you think it's only his face that's cute, nah, his torso, round and fat and squishy, is just so cute too.

I call him Tater Tot because of his torso.

One thing I love about Steppy is that paws in front harrumph pout of his.

Plus, there's also love the quiet patient look he can wear as if he's wanting something from me but not sure to ask how.

I like toys that have a sense of expression and a sense of realism.

Don't laugh.

It's not childish.

You can think of it as a modified form of puppetry that's carried instead of going onto your hand.

And there're people in this world who appreciate such a look.

Like in Thailand, where Steppy has charmed many a housekeeping staff who never fail to find time to place him in his most lifelike, puppy-style positions.

I'm so thankful, I tell you, to have found such a toy.

He's a young one, by the way, only two years old.

Thankfully, he'll be with me much longer.

Never mind if along the way I'll be adding a couple more.
